Getting to Graceland?

How can I get to Graceland from say Gatlingburg area without driving?

I would prefer not to drive because it looks like it would be a long drive and I don%26#39;t really want to stay overnight although I guess I could but we are going to rent a cabin unless we just leave early from the cabin and drive down to Memphis and stay and then back to the airport or something.

Any suggestions?

I would suggest you drive and stay there.Memphis is about 6 hours away from Gatlinburg.We stayed there 2 years ago at Heart Break Hotel and then drive to Gatlinburg.Graceland is amazing.It is a must see.If you have any other questions I would be happy to help.

Well what airport would you recommend flying into?

Should we do Graceland first?

We would have to rent a car of course.

I hate to go down there and not go to Graceland :-) not that I couldn%26#39;t go again I guess :-)

Personally this what I would do.There is not a whole lot to see and do in Memphis.You may only want to spend 2 days there.I would fly into Memphis.Then do one of the 2.Rent a car or stay at a hotel that has free airport shuttle.The Heart break Hotel has free shuttle service,and shuttle service around memphis to most sites you would want to see.Then i would get the rental car and drive to Gatlinburg.Then you could fly out of Knoxville or drive back to Memphis.i would check to see what options are cheaper.Rent car companies will most likely let you drop off you car in Knoxville area if they have a store there.I hope this helps some.

Yes I am not sure how easy or what the expense would be to fly into one airport and out of another?!

Yes I think wouldn%26#39;t see why they wouldn%26#39;t let you return a rental car to another airport. Of course something I would need to research. I think my trip is becoming more complicated :-)

Did you find it hard to get a room at the Heartbreak Hotel?

When I did the Deluxe Package for one night it had little days to choose from... but then when I put in the day we might stay it showed rooms available... however it looks like Friday-Sunday there is a mininimum stay period???!

Nashville would be about halfway between the two points. There%26#39;s lots of places to see there.

Ah yes... Nashville... how could I forget!

Of course... first things first... I am not sure if I can talk the hubby into driving like 6 hours to/from Gatlinburg just for Graceland!

Is it trully worth it? or do you have to be a huge Elvis fan??? ;-)

I never was a huge elvis fan and I really enjoyed Graceland.It is like he is still there in a strange way.You would have to go to know what I mean.Heart Break hotel does have min. stay requirements.I also know the package may be cheaper to do seperately.You have to make reservations well in advance too.Nashville is so much if you like country music if you don%26#39;t like it you would not have much fun.

Yes it looks like you would need to book early for the Heart break hotel. Very popular :-)
