Can I get a snow update?

A friend of mine is going up the week after Christmas - just curious on the snow up there now and possibility of more between now and then?

I work in Gatlinburg and there%26#39;s not been much snow as of yet, maybe just a touch on top of the mountains, no driving concerns but it is beutifull to look at. Just a quick hint, it%26#39;s been very cold, the temps been in the low 40%26#39;s but the wind on some days will cut you in half so bring some warm clothing. There%26#39;s talk of a slight possiblity of snow the week after christmas but nothing written in stone yet. Hope this helps.

I have checked the 10 day and it looks pretty warm(compared to our 16 degrees today)

We are still planning to go from01/02/06 - 01/06/06 so as long as I%26#39;m not snowed in, then I%26#39;m there!

There is usually never a problem with being ';snowed in'; here. I know what you mean being a native of Minnesota! The road crews get our right away and get everything cleared off really quickly. Most of the time the snow will melt by mid-morning unless you are staying somewhere at extreme altitude. The only thing to watch for is that U.S. 441 across the National Park will close with a heavy snowfall. You can call the park office for road conditions. www.nps.gov for that number
