Hotel suggestions needed

I am planning a suprise trip for my in-laws in March and need some suggestions on Hotels.. Looking for a hotel close to the heart of the city so a car rentel won%26#39;t be necessary, as well close to where tours depart... any suggestions...

Sorry, don%26#39;t know why it double posted...!!

We like the Sheraton Nashville Downtown, it%26#39;s across the street from the State Capitol. We walked to 2nd Avenue, where all the action is (if the weather is nice). But, if it isn%26#39;t the cab ride there is around $5. I did see tour buses at the hotel, so I assume tours depart from there, but you may want to check around. Not sure how much cash you plan to spend on this trip, but the highest rated hotel in trip advisor for Nashville is The Hermitage. It is a couple buildings down from The Sheraton so we have seen the outside of it, but not actually stayed there. Also, if your inlaws like Italian food, check out the Old Spaghetti Factory in downtown on 2nd Ave (I think.) We walked there from the hotel and it is inexpensive and great food.

You can schedule tours to pick you up at most of the downtown hotels. Tour companies like Nashville Sightseeing have you indicate your hotel when you reserve your spot on the tour. My mom stayed at the Sheraton this weekend, and it%26#39;s nice. The Hilton is also very nice.

The downtown Hilton is right in the heart of downtown and an excellent hotel, I stayed

there in August.(we walked everywhere except

for a cab ride to the Opryland Hotel)I have also heard good reviews on the Renaissance which is also in the same part town.

Hilton Suites Downtown, Marriott Courtyard, Renaissance Nashville Hotel (Marriott), Doubletree Hotel are all very nice hotels and close to everything Downtown within walking distance. I have stayed at all except for the Courtyard, can%26#39;t go wrong with any of them. As for access to/from interstates, Hilton %26amp; Marriott would be your best bets.

Good luck and hope you enjoy your stay.

i would stay at the downtown sheraton or renassiance because they are high rise hotels with a beautiful view. Try to get a room facing north and you can see the state capitol and a state park.
