Lunch on Beale Street

Can someone recommend a restaurant on Beale Street for a Friday afternoon lunch? We are going to Ruths Chris that evening so skip steak. Is there maybe a local favorite or perhaps some good BBQ?

Thanks in advance!

Lunch on Beale Street

Rum Boogie and Blues City have good BBQ ribs, etc. Do not go to the Rendezvous, everyone recommends it but it%26#39;s not that great. Not on Beale either. There%26#39;s a good cajun place, red interior...inn between Rum Boogie and Club 152 on Beale....King%26#39;s Palace maybe? Any of the little places on Beale would be fine. There%26#39;s a BB King%26#39;s which might be good if you like him and want something touisty. Hard Rock but you can find that anywhere. The best BBQ in the city isn%26#39;t in the downtown area, so it would be a drive.

Alfred%26#39;s used to have a good plate lunch special. I haven%26#39;t been there in years but the food was good, the portions were large and the price was reasonable.

Funny, I%26#39;ve heard that the prices at Fleming%26#39;s Steak on Poplar are stupid.

Well, this here Memphian enjoys The Rendezvous but I would not recommend it for lunch. If you are downtown for lunch, I%26#39;d recommend McEwens. For a touristy type lunch, BBKinds or Alfred%26#39;s but the food will not be that great.

I find there are many good restaurants in the Memphis area.

Had imo the best ribs at the Rum Boogie cafe, a fun place for its music memorabilia, and I think they offer lunchtime deals, so maybe worth checking out.

a few blocks away is Sawaddii. If you like Thai Cuisine, it is located at 121 Union Ave. Check out Sawaddii.com.

GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

King%26#39;s Palace Cafe is very good. We went there for dinner and were pleased with everything we tried. Prices are reasonable and there is a good selection. We also had ribs at Silky O%26#39;Sullivans; they were really good! Enjoy!
