Food Delivery?

I%26#39;m planning a stay in cabin night, and I don%26#39;t want to cook. Which restaurants deliver to cabins off Wears Valley road? I found The Steak Factory but what about Chinese or Italian? The cabin is 8 miles from PF.

Food Delivery?

THere is a company here called Take Out Express. They deliver for several restaurants like o%26#39;Charleys, Damon%26#39;s, THe Smoky Mtn Brewery, etc.

Food Delivery?

What city are they out of? PF? Gatlinburg? Can you tell me if a restaurant called Tastebuds on Wears Valley is still open?

We were in Wears Valley a couple weeks ago - TasteBuds was not open when we were there and appears to be deserted.

Thanks so much for the reply. The Delivery Express doesn%26#39;t delivery where we will be staying. I decided on The Steak Factory.

Anyone been to Sweet Fanny Adams this season?

2 questions...

Does anyone know if Sweet Fanny Adams Theater is open in November?

Also, of the 2 current shows, any reviews? ';Once Upon a Trunk'; %26amp; ';Random Acts of Silliness';

We have never been, and would like to go during our trip Nov28-Dec 2.

Anyone been to Sweet Fanny Adams this season?

Sweet FAny is open until Christmas. We always go Thanksgiving week. It is one of the highlights of our trip,Last we we saw the skits about the pirates. It was hilarious. I love the paper dance and the routine about the magician. In fact, I don%26#39;t think I have ever seen anything there that was not top notch, Check the website.www.sweetfannyadamstheatre.com about there current shows

Anyone been to Sweet Fanny Adams this season?

I just got back from Gatlinburg yesterday.

I *lovelovelove* Sweet Fanny Adams, and have been three times this year.

They are indeed open in November, and around the time you%26#39;re headed over, they should be doing their special Christmas show. I am not sure if they%26#39;ll have the other two shows as well (I don%26#39;t believe they will, though... Janice told us their schedule would be different). If they do, both are great, but I will say that ';Random Acts of Silliness'; is the funnier of the two. You really can%26#39;t go wrong with any show they put on, they are a very talented group.

Have fun on your trip, do let us know how it went when you return. And if you decide to check out SFA, enjoy :)

Thanks for the tips? We are planning on going.

I just found out that Sweet Fanny Adams is closed Nov 28 - Dec 2, they re-open Dec 3 with their Christmas show.

Oh Well, maybe next year.

  • Looking for Petfriendly cabin

Not to close to other cabins would like it on a mountain. 2 people so a one bedroom would be ok. Would like hot tub on balcony with nice view. Would like it to be in Gatlinburg. Looking to go in April of next year. Is this a good time to go? Any recommendations. I have never been to Gatlinburg.

    Thank you,

    Looking for Petfriendly cabin

Just do a search on Gatlinburg cabins and several cabin communities offer pet friendly cabins when you look on their website. Jackson Mountain Homes is one of them. I just came back and only made my plans a week ago-many of those sites I was researching had a pet option!

    Looking for Petfriendly cabin

I just went on Waldencreekstables.com and on their site they have links to sites with cabins in the area. There are some that are pet friendly!

Gatlinburg Falls has pet friendly cabins.

    Hello igrzembs,

I would suggest looking on www.vrbo.com and check out the cabins that show pet friendly. Most properties ask that you bring a portable kennel so when you leave the pet in the property they will not cause damage, as well as asking for a deposit for the pets is possible.

Thanks Smoky_Mtn_Man for suggesting vrbo for pet friendly cabins. There are more than 200 listings for Gatlinburg alone, so you have lots of choices. Just look for the blue pawprint.

It%26#39;s too bad you can%26#39;t search by pet friendly designation, but you can search by number of bedrooms then look for the blue paw. Good luck jgrzembs.

My husband and I are planning to go to Pigeon Forge-Gatlinburg November 20th. We will staying the week. We have been several times and always have a great time.We always stay in Townsend on Saturday and go into PF and Gatlinburg on Sunday. We both have our favorite things to do. I like the Old Mill area especially the Smokey Mountain Cat House and the Pottery Mill. I like the outlet malls. He enjoys Sweet Fanny Adams and relaxing in the park. We usually take a picnic to Cade%26#39;s Cove and spend the day browsing. My question is, which show to go to see. There are so many. We have been to the Bears Show and Sweet Fanny Adams. We both enjoy country music but are not into theme parks. We went to Dixie Stampede several years ago and rather enjoyed it. What do ya%26#39;ll think is a good choice.

    Best Shows

If you enjoy country music then country tonight is a must see. If you like comedy with your country then comedy barn and ole smokey hoedown are a must.

    Best Shows

I love the Louise Mandrell Show. I think it was the best show I have ever seen, and I have seen alot, I have been to Branson four times. Iam sure you will love it.

Go see Louise Mandrell before she leaves! Her last show is New Year%26#39;s eve since she sold the the theatre this spring. (Her husband has a rare disease and she wants to be able to be with him more.) Great family show with high-end production values.

I must admit I enjoyed the Comedy Barn . I thought ';OH NO '; another show that makes fun of '; hillbilly%26#39;s ';, but was I ever wrong . It was one of the best shows I have ever seen in P.F..And I have been to several. If you need a good laugh thats the place to go.

My family and I have been to the Comedy Barn 2 times. We absolutely love it! My 8 yr old son had to have the video and he watches it often. It is not a ';making fun of hillbillies'; type of show.

since you will be there for the holidays shows I also recommend the Louise show. We have been several times and always a very good show!! The bears show is also a good holiday show if you have not seen it.

What is the comedy barn like? We will be there over Thanksgiving with my mother-in-law and 9 yr old daughter. Would they enjoy it? Would my 9 yr old really understand the humor?

We have been to the dixie stampede twice, and loved it. We were thinking about doing it this time for the Xmas show. Has anyone seen that show?

We just got back from our annual anniversary trip(24 years) Here are some activities we enjoyed: Black Bear Jamboree was the BEST. Comedy Barn is a scream, County Tonight, horseback riding with Ponderosa Riding Stables, Riding the Arts and Crafts circle and up 321 to picnic at Greenbrier by the river. We didn%26#39;t go to Cades Cove this year. We got back Nov 2nd and the peak colors are slow this year so you will probably be in for some wonderful fall views. We stayed at All Seasons Cabins(private owner cabins) right off of traffic light 3 in Pigeon Forge. This was the highlight of our trip this year. Check out their website if you haven%26#39;t booked yet(www.allseasonscabins.com). Great folks and unbelievable cabins/prices. The location of their 2 cabins are centrally located to everything you mentioned but in the peaceful solitude of the mountains. Cabins have wood fireplace, hot tub, jacuzzi, pool table,W/D, BBQ grill, EVERYTHING.....

    Bedbugs

This has been ahot topice regarding hotels and motels. Has anyone had an experience with them?

    Bedbugs

We have stayed at the Hilton Suites on 4th and loved it.

It is located on 4th Ave. and easy to walk anywhere downtown.

Right next to the Country Music Hall of Fame and close to the Ryman Auditorium...

Also stayed at the Renaissance Hotel...first time we liked it.

Had a really nice room that looked towards downtown and was a corner room...second time not so lucky...we could hear everything that our neighbors did or said as if they were right in our room.

    Stayed at the Doubletree..

    Enjoyed our stay there.

Stayed at another one but cannot remember the name of it.

All those are within walking distance to attractions and downtown.

    Bedbugs

i think the bedbug problem is limited to several of the cheap hotels near the stadium-the days inn coliseum, knights inn and stadium inn. Avoid those at all costs. They get a lot of drug dealers, hookers etc from the bad part of town.

  • Christmas in the snow

We have an 8-year old daughter who has never seen snow. We do not ski ... but would enjoy a pretty country village setting with sleigh rides, shows, fireplaces and shopping. Any suggestions?

    Christmas in the snow

There is always snow at Obergatlinburg in the winter. They have an Ice skating rink and I think sledding. The Gondola to the top is fun, or you can drive up Ski Mountain Road.

    Christmas in the snow

I guess living in Texas you wouldn%26#39;t see alot of snow. Seeing snow for the very first time at any age would be such an experience. I would definitely take her to Ober and being in December there%26#39;s a good chance that there will be snow on the ground. Zoder%26#39;s has rooms with fireplaces and you may even want to think about renting a cabin. I%26#39;m sure there are some placess that offer sleigh rides but I don%26#39;t know any right off. Spending Christmas in the Smokies would be so great. Take plenty of pictures. This will be a wonderful memory. Take care and enjoy your trip.

Here is a website that will give you all kinds of information about Winterfest in Gatlinburg.

    Granny's at Dollywood

Is the buffet for lunch or breakfast good at Granny%26#39;s and also, is it expensive or not? Is the selection and quality worth the money or am I better off going to Golden Corral with the kids? Are there any places to take the kids like a Chuck E Cheese to play and eat?

    Granny's at Dollywood

I am assuming that you are talking about Aunt Granny%26#39;s at Dollywood... If so, the answer is yes, it is good. We have never had the breakfast buffet there, but the lunch/supper is very good. The price is comparable to everything else in a sit down restaurant there. I can%26#39;t remember the price for sure, but I think it is about $8.00-$9.00 per adult for supper. I may be high, but I don%26#39;t think I am low in that figure.

With all that said, I would recommend you go there for one of the nicer meals Dollywood offers.

    Enjoy!

    Granny's at Dollywood

Thank you for the info. We will try it. We have a coupon that children eat free with a paying adult. We will try the breakfast there. I love biscuits and gravy. Where is the best place for that?

Can%26#39;t help you with breakfast at all. We never arrive until close to lunchtime and just wait for that. Aunt Granny%26#39;s might be your best bet, though. Otherwise, if you have light eaters, you might try the bakery near the entrance of the park. Also, if you like cinnamon bread, get a loaf or two at the grist mill. It%26#39;s on the expensive side, but it sure it good! I figure it like this... On a regular basis, I probably woud not buy it, but for special at Dollywood, I do. Hope this helps.

We will try the cinnamon bread.

We%26#39;ve tried Aunt Granny%26#39;s several time over the years and don%26#39;t see what all the fuss is about over this place. In my families opinion Aunt Granny%26#39;s is a shining example of a very bad buffet. Most of the food seems to be out of a can with a little seasoning to try to cover up. It%26#39;s also very expensive for that kind of food. I%26#39;m not much of a buffet fan but I like Golden Corral a lot better than Granny%26#39;s. While we%26#39;re talking about Dollywood food has anyone had the disgusting pizza they serve there? We ended up taking a few bites and throwing ours away. We pretty much avoid eating at Dollywood. I thought the quality of food at Dixie Stampede wasn%26#39;t much better than Dollywood food either.

I loved Aunt Granny%26#39;s. They have good old fashioned home cooked southern food. Anywhere you eat in Dollywood is going to be more expensive than if you were to eat on the parkway. But if you want a variety in what you want to eat Aunt Granny%26#39;s is the place. I believe when we ate there it was like $22 for my husband and me. Not bad for a buffet. I disagree with coastermeister, I would take Aunt Granny%26#39;s over Golden Coral anyday.

I agree that the food at Dollywood isn%26#39;t fantastic. And you are so right about the pizza!!! But rest assured that when I recommend Aunt Granny%26#39;s, I am comparing it to most every other food choice at Dollywood, not to food %26#39;on the outside.%26#39; With that said, I still like Aunt Granny%26#39;s just fine for a full meal.

That%26#39;s not bad for buffet prices. I have a coupon where my kids can eat free breakfast. After 4pm kids can eat free dinner with a paying adult. I have done a lot of research on coupons. I know where you can buy tickets with cash to Dollywood and you can stay 2 whole days instead of the after 3pm deal. You buy the tickets at a hotel. Anyone who does otherwise has money to flush.

We have just returned from our trip to Dollywood. We enjoyed the food at Granny%26#39;s. It was reasonably priced and we enjoyed the buffet very much. The waitress was very friendly and treated us as though she had known us a long time. We did have a very memorable event happen while in the restaurant. A couple had some very loud and unhappy children. An elderly man became quite upset at them when they proceeded to leave. He threatened the mother of the children. The staff handled this situation with much tact. The security people were quietly informed and shortly after the young couple left the restaurant, the man who threatened was very quiely taken out of the restaurant. It was quite an experience and one that I won%26#39;t forget for a long time. The staff handled everything calmly and other patrons continued on with their meal. I highly recommend Granny%26#39;s at Dollywood. The evening meal was definitely an experience!

Wow! I have NEVER seen anything like that at Dollywood! And I have been there numerous times since we live less than 2 hours away. I have always experienced very friendly people there. As far as amusement parks go, I think Dollywood has the most homey and friendly atmosphere of them all. And I always feel safe there. But things will happen. You saw a very rare incident, I%26#39;m sure.
