sightseeing advice

staying at Doubletree East on Sanderlin. Is it close to anything? Is there any tours that would take me to the main sights on Beale St etc? Thanks for the info.

sightseeing advice

I stay at this hotel about once a month. Doubletree hotel used to be Hilton. Changed about a year ago. Not the newest hotel in town, showing some wear, but in safe area. Several restaurants and grocery close. When you stay there, try to get a room facing the NORTH side of the building. A relatively close and very active train track is about 1/4 mile to the South and can be a bit noisy. Indoor/Outdoor pool, steak house restaurant, pretty good. This is considered MidTown, so you are a good 20-25 minutes from downtown. As far as tour operators that pick up from hotel, while I have not used them, so this is not a recommendation, Blues City Tours (www.bluescitytours.com)has a lot of positive references (AAA, BBB, etc). Here is Memphis BBB site for this company.
