Park Vista Hotel

We are staying at the Park Vista Hotel over Thanksgiving and was wondering about how far the hotel is from downtown Gatlinburg. We have been coming to Gatlinburg about 4 times a year for the past 10 years, but haven%26#39;t ever stayed at the Park Vista Hotel.

Park Vista Hotel

The park vista is on Cherokee Orchard Road which is right off the parkway in gatlinburg. The same street as the space needle is on.The hotel sits way at the top of steep road.It is about 1.5 miles to the parkway.I do not think it is walkable at all (maybe walking down hill but uphill will be rough) but the trolley stops at the hotel entrance very often and only cost $.25 a person.I hope this helps.Have a great time.

I stayed there several years ago and if I remember correctly we went around to the back of the parking lot and there was a trail that you could walk down that did take you all the way into town. I remember it being a long walk and all down hill but like I said that was a long time ago, probably like 6 or 7 years ago so it may not be accessible now. It%26#39;s a nice hotel with a glass elevator inside and since it is round you can stand out in the hallways and look over the balcony all the way down to the first floor. I think there is 15 floors and the higher up you go the more expensive the rooms get. They used to have a bar on the first floor. I hope you like it.

We stayed there YEARS ago. It has gorgeous views. We had a minor problem with our room but it was corrected. One of the first times that we actually went to Gatlinburg.

We looked into it for our daughters wedding last April for her reception but they were booked with a convention.

Would not recommend walking at all. Our car, at the time, just barely made it up the steep drive.

They do have their own trolley that takes you downtown every 30 mins. I believe. When we were there it would drop you off at the Convention Center and then you could catch one back up at the same place. Not sure how late they run in November.

I envy you going that time of year.

The Christmas lights will be gorgeous.

We%26#39;ve walked it before from downtown and as sweetiepie said, it%26#39;s a pretty good walk. Especially when you get off Historic Nature Trail and onto the Park Vista access road. Coming back down isn%26#39;t so bad - you can basically roll all the way.....lol
