Coffee shop in Gatlinburg

Hey what happened to the coffee shop that was on the corner . I can%26#39;t think of the red light # but is was at the intersection where you either turn left to go to Pigeon Forge or turn right to go to the craft district? And are coffee shops not a big commodity there? I, myself am a big coffee lover.

Vickie, I too am a coffee lover. I love to sit outside in the morning just before daylight and watch the sun come up and just relax and meditate. Wouldn%26#39;t it be nice if there was a coffee shop like Starbucks or Barnes and Noble which is actually a bookstore but they also have a coffee shop inside in Gatlinburg? I think a coffee shop with a balcony facing the mountains would be nice. Maybe someone will open up one now that we have approached the subject.

Coffee shop in Gatlinburg

Is that the Maui Wowee shop?

There used to be a coffee shop where Subway is now at traffic lite #6 Baskins Creek. It was on the second floor. I forget the name of it, they moved out hwy 321.

I would like to see another quality gormet coffee shop also, but no Starbucks please, too bitter for me. I will put my Lattes up against theirs any day.

Coffee %26amp; Co. in the Village is pretty good.

I will tell you a little secret....my wife and I have had a dream to semi-retire and open a Top Shelf Coffee shop in Gatlinburg. I have been researching it for a while now. I have even purchased a few peices of equipment. Location is the key and the best spots on the Parkway rarely come available plus the rent is unbelievable. Panera Bread was paying $12,000 a month....it would take a lot of coffee sales to cover that! There are a few locations up towards Calhouns, Park Grill area which could be good since that end of the Parkway has become more popular.

I have seen many businesses come and go in Gatlinburg, If you don%26#39;t have the location, you are out of luck.

By the time I get in a position to do it, I am sure Starbucks or someone else will have went in.

If it is meant to be, things will fall into place. Wish me luck!

Sounds like you%26#39;ve done your homework, lovegb. You%26#39;re so right that businesses come and go in Gatlinburg--I miss Panera bread%26#39;s cinnamon crunch bagels we%26#39;d pick up there for breakfast the next day. That%26#39;s amazing how much they paid for rent each month--ouch!

I wish you well on your plans to open a coffee shop. I%26#39;d much rather see a private venture than a franchise anyday! Good luck.

lovegb, I know NOTHING about that stuff, but wondered if you might find someone who wants to start a business that would compliment your coffee interest. Share the space and share the rent. I%26#39;m sure there would be too many hassles to consider it, but that was the first thing that popped into my head when I read your post. I%26#39;ve learned through the years that sharing any ideas can help. The original suggestion might not work, but it may lead you to something that could...

Well.....I looked for it last time we were there. And your right it is a subway now.Okay now that we have the coffee shop issue answered as to who might open one. What other types of businesses might you all like to see in Gatlinburg?

Thanks Onstar and Klm for the comments. We will see what happens.

I too have been researching this idea. Though I want to open a coffee/gourmet dessert shoppe. Someplace cozy yet modern at the same time. As everyone else has already said, location is key for this. I think it%26#39;s one of the things Gatlinburg is lacking and I hope that things work out in the next stages of the planning to allow this dream to happen : )

There you go lovegb and seatbythewindow, a business partner match made on Trip Advisor ;-)

Actually I think a gourmet coffee/dessert shop with a fireplace, cozy booths, elegant lighting and artwork would be cool beans! Remember how many times we%26#39;ve seen a post for someone asking for a romantic venue for dinner? A coffee shop with an upscale twist would be a fantastic offering on the parkway. This could be a perfect place for couples, coffee-lovers or just folks who want a special treat.

Mmmm...makes me hungry for a slice of ganache-hazelnut torte and a capuccino! Now that%26#39;s what I go on vacation for...a little taste of heaven ;-)

This is for lovegb. I always thought that lovegb was for love gatlinburg but when I went to pull up metalwulf%26#39;s pictures today I thought I would see if you had any on there. Lo and behold I was shocked when I saw all those pictures of Garth Brooks. I too am a huge Garth Brooks fan. He is so awesome. Have you ever met Him? Those pictures are just fantastic.
