Big Restaurant at Traffic light #1 across from ski Mountain...

Hey everyone. Well looks like we will be spending Christmas In Gatlinburg this year YEAH ! We still haven%26#39;t sold the house but as you all know when we do we%26#39;ll be up there for good. Can anyone tell me what the name of the big restaurant is at traffic light #1 the one that is across from ski Mountain Rd. Or I think it is anyway. The one that looks like a big lodge? I would like to make reservations for one of the nights my husband and I are there. I think I%26#39;ve told you all that my husband and I got engaged in Gatlinburg and returned a year later and got married there. Well our anniversary is 12/27 so I%26#39;d like to plan a nice evening at this restaurant.

Thanks

Gatlinburglover

I believe it is the Open Hearth. Used to be very good, but we have not eaten there for quite a while.

Thank you lovegb that is exactly it ! : )

Hi Vickie,

I do not know my traffic lights all that well (I should as many years and times/year I am in Gatlinburg!) Not to muddy up the water as lovegb%26#39;s probably right, but my first guess would be you were talking about the Park Grill because it is at that end of town (nearer the park) and it looks like huge lodge. I%26#39;ve only been there once but they serve very nice meals at a slightly higher price, but I love the atmosphere. Especially the live piano ;-)

Here%26#39;s their web site in case you wanted to check. http://www.parkgrillgatlinburg.com You can download a $5 coupon on the home page. And check out the recipe for the P-kan Chicken (omigosh is it good...they use Captain Crunch and pecans for the coating). I tried it at home a couple years ago and it is superb!

Thank you for the information OnstarVoice. I will do that.

That%26#39;s traffic light #10 and the Open Hearth that is directly across from Ski Mtn. Rd. The Park Grill is down the road a short distance.

Just a question....Is the Open Hearth still open? We have never eaten there, but we were in the area in August %26amp; every time we went by, it didn%26#39;t appear to be open. There were no vehicles %26amp; it looked deserted. Just wondering...thanks.

It may be closed, I did not pay a lot of attention to it a few weeks ago when we were in GB.

The Open Hearth used to be a great place to eat. Then they moved from the Parkway location to a location way out 321 on the East Parkway and I heard a lot of complaints. O%26#39;Charleys in the meantime opened in the old Open Hearth location and then a few years ago the Open Hearth re-Opened in the Parkway spot and I think they closed the East Parkway location. We have not eaten there since the first move.

I think they are closed. I tried to call the other day and got a.....';The number you have dialed has been disconected'; That%26#39;s a shame that is where my husband and I ate after our wedding just two years ago.

I know at one time they were closed because the building was empty but the current on-line yellow pages has a listing for them. I haven%26#39;t been on that end of the Parkway in several years.

The Open Hearth is closed. My husband and I were there the weekend before Thanksgiving and saw it. I heard that it was one of the best, but changed management and went downhill. So I guess you won%26#39;t be missing anything...

If you go to the Village, get some hot chocolate at the Donut place (Frier?) and think of me! It was the best!!

Have fun on your anniversary!

Kathy
