How far is Pigeon Forge to Gatlingburg?

Maybe 6 miles at most.

How far is Pigeon Forge to Gatlingburg?

Where is the best place to get a cabin around that area? Or does it matter?

I was thinking closer to Gatlinburg but it seems Pigeon Forge isn%26#39;t that far away though.

Since I am from the area and have family there I have no experience with cabins. I do know there are a lot of them- maybe even too many now for the market. I%26#39;m sure there are lots of people who can help you with this. You should place another post with the subject of cabin rentals and you will get lots of help.

We rented through Sunset Cottages - they have cabins all over the entire area and their customer service was wonderful! Ours was just outside of Piegeon Forge - and it was perfect...the drive to Gatlinburg was nothing...and I think we had some of the best mountain views available! Their website is www.sunsetcottage.com. And we rented ';A Walk in The Clouds';.

Hi again Tissie,

Well this the debate everytime we go to the area(been there 6 time in the last6 years!)

Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg?

It depends on what you think you will do the most. We like to go to the outlets etc and alot of the shopping is up towards PF as well as most of the shows. Dollywood is also up there. There is a movie theater in Sevierville also(don%26#39;t know that you care about that though). There are a ton of places to eat and lots of shops and things to do.

Now, if you like to park and walk around alot and eat some more great food and have more of a ';small town feel'; then GB is a good choice. Some of the best places to eat are in GB as well as alot of touristy things as well.

We decided to stay in PF close to where you get on the parkway so it will kind of be 1/2 way for either. Not sure if it matters either, but PG is a dry county so if you like drinks with dinner or just want some for your cabin, you%26#39;ll have to go into GB.

All of the times we have stayed, we end up spending equal time at each but ususally spend dinners in GB cuz some of the best is there and we like drinks with our dinner!

Not sure if this helps but I tried.

As for lodging, OH MAN, there is a ton everywhere. We are renting from a private owner and I do think the service CAN be better!(Just my oh so humble opinion!)

Thanks to all! You guys are very helpful!

It sounds like somewhere between PF and GB would be best. They both sound like they have much to offer!
