Hotel Reccomendation

My wife and I are in need of a hotel reccommendation. We want to stay on the parkway (stayed in an awesome cabin last time, but too expensive to do it again right now) so we can be within walking distance of many attractions.

Requirements: King Size bed, Fridge, Microwave, room to put a pack %26amp; play for our 1 year old son. Fireplace would be a huge plus.

I don%26#39;t want to spend more than 100 a night, otherwise I%26#39;ll get a cabin. We%26#39;re planning on coming December 4th-8th.

Any ideas?

Zoders, Gillette, Johnsons, Mountain House...all within walking to Parkway

Thanks, I%26#39;ll check them out!

Has anyone stayed at the Quality Inn Creekside?

Riverhouse at The Park has a big room with king sized bed, microwave, fridge, gas fireplace on the river plus a continental breakfast that has good donuts and fresh squeezed orange juice. The rates are great at the time you%26#39;re going, 50 a night. Bearskin Lodge is another nice place to stay.

hi! we were looking for something reasonable also and found windy oaks condo 311. It%26#39;s walking distance to downtown Gatlinburg. It%26#39;s left onlight 6 (across from aquarium) half mile up the hill. Newly remodeled. 3 bedroom, very very nice!!! Deb493

We were in the area two weekends ago. Do Not stay at the Best Western Greenbrier Inn, located at 711 Parkway. This is Not a family friendly motel! The rooms are all very small, have paper thin walls and open to the outside, making for a very high noise level. It is a very old property and is way overdue for a complete renovation. Better yet, it should be torn down. They cater to large tour bus groups. The parking lot is very small, and when you get two or three buses parked in the lot, there is no room left for guests to park. You have to park your car in a nearby shopping center. We worried about our car all night. The only place where these large tour bus groups can assemble is in the breakfast cabin. They linger in the breakfast cabin for hours, making it impossible for families to eat breakfast. Also, there are many complaints about housekeeping ignoring Do Not Disturb signs in the morning. They start banging on guest doors at 7:00 a.m. We had to scream at them to go away and even then they starting opening the door with a pass key. The owner is very rude and is only concerned with keeping the tour bus groups happy. Avoid this place. The carpet in our room was so filthy that we kept our shoes on. The bed mattresses were hard and lumpy.

Also, do not stay at Edge Park which is on River Road. A friend told me that they were really cheap and they are at that but the rooms are old and musky smelling. The air conditioner just barely hangs in the window. The paneling under the air conditioner was wet and coming off the wall. The ceiling in the bathroom had mold all over it. I always ask to see a room first before I agree to it and when I walked in and saw this room I told the desk clerk in a nice way that we wanted to find something a little bigger. Also, there were these guys out in the parking lot that had the hood up on their car and they were under the car doing something and oil was running all over the lot. The management was in the office and I know they saw them. It was not a place that 2 women by themselves would want to stay.

I know that Best Western Zoders Inn all rooms come with fridge and some with fireplaces however no microwaves that I know of.

longdog: Read your responses.

This reminds of a short story a person told me years ago: '; A guy buys a $1000 suit and only has enough money for a $40 pair of shoes, so he takes long steps to save the shoes and rips the crouch out of his $1000 suit.

For a few buck more (not much) you can rent from a %26#39;Quality Owner%26#39; direct and be assured of a perfect getaway. Check-out the %26#39;Maps%26#39; button to the left or up top on this site. Scroll down to the 3rd listing %26#39;Bluemist Cabins%26#39;...this is First-Class at a reasonable price (I am not affiated with this site in any manner)

longdog,

I just posted a review for Carrs Northside cottages #8 in the hotels section including photos. A little farther to the main parkway, but a great value.
