Need your opinion about Aunt Bugs Hidden lodge 800 cabin

We just rented a cabin that slept six people from Aunt Bug%26#39;s this past weekend. Overall the cabin was okay although the layout was rather strange. The master bedroom had no bathroom and the second bedroom had a bathroom but the sink was in the bedroom. The lighting in the cabin was very poor and there were bugs in the windowsill. My problem with Aunt Bug%26#39;s was not so much the cabin but the extensive list of rules and extra fees. When we reserved the cabin by phone they failed to mention that they charge a $45 registration fee and a $15 towel fee, only when we received the faxed contract did we realize that these fees had been added on, so definitely ask if there are any additional fees when you make your reservation. They also charge extra for maid service so basically one has to make sure all garbage is put in a trashcan outside the cabin and all towels are put in the bathtub upon leaving or you guessed it there is a fee. Also each cabin has two keys one must remain in a lock box at all times. There is a $20 off coupon that one can find in the various brochures and coupon books found in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge the catch being it must be mentioned at the time of booking, well most people don%26#39;t find the coupons until they have already booked their cabin. On the plus side they do allow pets in some of the cabins for a flat $50 fee per pet and they do not have to be crated which is the main reason that I choose them.

sam - If you type in Aunt Bugs in the search box on this website, you will find reviews from people on the board who have stayed with them. I have not. I did once organized and went with a group of 30 moms and daughters to Gatlinburg. Instead of renting one large cabin, we stayed in a group of cabins right next to each other. It worked out that every mom/daughter pair had their own king bedroom with private bath. There was even a small pool right there to use. If I were to do it again, only with my family, I would do it the same way. We would not get along good enough to make the weekend fun! Don%26#39;t get me wrong, we love each other and enjoy each others company, but we all like our own space. Just a different perspective for you. I know that now there are a few cabin companies that have cabin groupings. Have fun!!

We have stayed in Aunt Bug cabins on two occasions. We were very pleased with River Romance and Little Bit of Vegas. Unfortunately lbv is no longer under Aunt Bug. I do agree with the person that advised you to stay in a group of cabins in the same area. I do know that River Romance, Trout House, and Gone Swimming are all in walking distance of each other. These are located on the river and behind the Dixie Stampede. They are very convenient to restaurants and Dollywood. I hope you have a great trip!

p.s. from previous posting. Check out Majestic.com We haven%26#39;t used this company but they do have new cabins with great views and accomodate large groups.

when i put in your website it comes up with healthcare items....anymore information????thanks

I think the website they were talking about is

www.majesticcabins.com

Have never rented from them so cannot vouch for their properties.

We did rent a 4 bedroom from Jackson Mountain Homes called Overlook Lodge...it was every bit as nice as the pictures show. Brand new as of June.

I am sorry, the web-site is www.majesticmountainvacations.com. Also, if you don%26#39;t mind a steep climb, another cabin rental company we have stayed at is Outback Rentals in Gatlinburg. We have used this rental company with no problems.

I came across a website for a place called ';Castle on the Green'; in Gatlinburg. However, it only sleeps 28. I don%26#39;t know anything about the place but it looks different!

You may want to read back on the forums a bit about Aunt Bugs. There was quite an uproar on here not long ago about some pretty bad service issues.
